  • Yes. We help students prepare for opportunities by developing technical dealing skills, professionalism, game knowledge, and industry readiness. We may share general information about openings, introduce students to industry contacts, or provide guidance on presenting themselves professionally when appropriate. However, Texas Gaming Institute does not guarantee employment, placement, interviews, earnings, licensure, certification acceptance, or admission into any card room, casino, or gaming operation. Hiring decisions are made independently by each employer, and participation in our program does not create an employment relationship or guarantee future work.

  • Our training is built around real poker room experience, practical application, professionalism, and preparing students for live game environments. Founder Ky is also well known throughout the Texas poker industry, with connections ranging from smaller local rooms to some of the largest poker operations in the state.

  • Poker dealing can provide flexible schedules, fast-paced work environments, and strong earning potential for skilled dealers. In addition to local card rooms, experienced dealers may also have opportunities to travel for major poker series, televised events, international venues, and tournaments such as the WSOP.

  • No. Workshops are conducted in a small group setting and limited to 8 participants to better simulate the real poker room environment. Training alongside others helps future dealers develop communication, table awareness, game flow, and the ability to manage live action under pressure — all essential skills for working in a real card room or casino.
